Hello Friends!
I had no idea when looking into Tokyo that there would be soooo many yummy places to eat! We ate at what feels like everywhere. I have narrowed down my favorite places below. What are some of your favorite places in Tokyo? Let me know, i'm already planning my return!
:)
The hotel bar below, had the most amazing views! This picture doesn't do it justice. We enjoyed nightly appetizers and drinks before we headed off to dinner.

Genki Sushi :
Conveyor belt sushi spots are common around Tokyo, this place was pretty cool and brought conveyor belt sushi to another level with ordering on the computer system at our table! Also, the sushi here was amazing! Genki is located in Shibuya, and we didn't have to wait at all. but we also went on an off hour around 3pm when people aren't really out eating as much.

Sushi in Tsukiji fish market at Sushi Zanmai, restaurant to Chef Kiyoshi Kimura, best known as 'Tuna King'. There are so many little and big sushi restaurants in the market area it just depends if you want to wait for a few hours to eat at the more popular ones or eat at any place. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated and it was well worth it. Maybe next time we will wake up super early and wait for 3 hours to eat at Sushi Dai.

Look at those Gyoza! Dumplings (or gyoza) are some of my favorite little snacks, during a stroll through Harajuku we started getting a little hungry and ran into this place before it opened.
Side note: i feel like most places opened around 11 whether they were cafes or restaurants, so plan on eating around then or having snacks at hand.
Anyways, this place is small so by the time we went back after it opened. There was a line!

There are a few locations of this cafe through out Tokyo. We saw a few while walking around. The cafe we went to was in Shinjuku, near our hotel and in the middle of lots of shopping. The cafe is located in the second floor of a building. Restaurants, cafes and bars are normal on multi level buildings, just look up while walking around and you will see signs with "F5 or B2" floor or basement locations.
At Hoshino, we had the most amazing strawberry french toast, and a souffle pancake. We went during the week and it opened around 11 am, we got there right when it opened and by the time we were done there was about a 1 hour wait! I would wait 1 hour for tat french toast... YUM!

i dream of this french toast! <3

The Pancake!

The birthday dinner of a life time!
511:
This restaurant specializes in Kobe Beef and we were lucky enough to be able to get a reservation during the week we were there. I booked the reservation through Open Table (which BTW has restaurants all over the world you can book on their site).
Below is the preset menu we choose, they do have multiple presets to choose from as well as a la cart.

Courses from top to bottom below:
Sliced sea bream and onion pure

Seasonal appetizers: A fish (cant remember the name but it was very good, a baked clam, some cherry blossom tofu, a fried baby eel and veggies with Kobe Beef.

Domyoji
A light broth soup and the sticky rice was filled with Kobe Beef (one of my favorite dishes).

Croquet
Potato croquette with Kobe Beef

Parboiled Kobe with vegetables:
Light broth similar to the prior soup, with Kobe beef, veggies and tofu

The main course: A5-12 Kobe Beef

SO damn good!

Kobe beef Sushi

Simple dessert to end the best meal.

Although the dishes look small, they mixed heavy dishes and light dishes. By the end of the night, i struggled to finish the dessert, it was a lot of food.
No tip to a foreign country is complete without a trip to American fast food restaurants to try the country's special items. First up, Burger Kings Spam burger. It was actually really good. I've had spam plenty of times before so i actually liked it. My boyfriend on the other hand, wasn't a big fan due to the saltiness but he didnt hate it.
We also went to Mc Donalds, where we had (what we thought was a burger with egg) a breakfast sausage with egg sandwich & teriyaki. It was good, but i prefer the Burger King Spam over this.
Sweets galour in Harajuku, Make sure you stop by and try the rolled crepes. They have a few shops selling these yummy crepes. We grabbed ours at Santa Monica Crepe's because it reminded us of home <3

Of course, no trip to Tokyo is complete without also trying Ramen.
We wondered around Shinjuku at night and found this place on accident. We saw the sign outside on the side walk and it said B1, we hadn't been in a basement level before so we thought we would give it a try. And i am so glad we did. This was by far (aside from the Kobe Beef dinner) my favorite meal. So much so we went back the following night for more.
I ordered the Chashumen ramen with pork, and my boyfriend ordered the Paiku Tukemen which is a dipping noodle, and friend chicken.

Close up of my ramen

Super close up! Such a great broth, not too salty or heavy. The pork was tender and flavorful.

Every where we ate was delicious, we didn't have one bad meal and cant wait to go back to Tokyo and try more food! Maybe next time we hope around the country to Osaka and Kyoto which i hear are both booming with foodie restaurants. If you have a favorite place please let me know!
