Hello! If you know me, you know, i LOVE Vegas. My Fiance and i go multiple times a year. It helps that we live on the west coast. If on a Friday night we get an itch for a getaway we get in the car and 3 hours later we are in Sin City. A few weeks ago we were in Vegas for 5 nights!! It was great. A perfect little getaway, although my fiance was really there for a conference. We arrived on a Saturday evening and headed out to the Cosmo to check out Secret Pizza. I think i have mentioned this pizza place before in other Vegas blogs, it's by far my favorite pizza in Vegas. And probably my favorite outside of Italy (aside from Settebello in Pasadena).

While at the Cosmo we noticed a new eating hall; Block 16. Block 16 has a handful of little eateries with something for everyone. If you want Sushi, they got it. A donut, slider or hot chicken? They got it! This is going to be the foodie spot for everyone. I was recently in Nashville and fell in love with a place called Hattie B's. Its a restaurant known for spicy chicken. Spicy chicken sandwiches and plates. I was so excited when i found out they were opening on the West Cost. LA has a similar restaurant called Howlin Ray's, but lines for that place are insane. On Saturday lines at Block 16 for Hattie B's were pretty long so since we were going to be there for a few days we decided to wait. A few days later we went back and tried 3 out of the 5 places in Block 16. We enjoyed these 3 places so much we went back multiple times. And honestly the other 2 locations didn't entice us. Below is the recap of the 3 places we went to in Block 16.

They only have handrolls and Sake... exactly as the name states. I was not a handroll person at all. I just don't like seaweed. And maybe the places i tried seaweed at before weren't using the best kind. Because these handrolls were DAMN GOOD. Seaweed was crispy, rice was warm and the protein filling was on point. I had the lobster handroll each and every time. when i like something i stick to it. My fiance has one of everything on the menu and they were all great per his review. But his favorite was the Tekka handroll, their specialty. It was a spicy tuna handroll with Tekka spicy house sauce.

We ordered a chicken slider, a breakfast slider, and a cold brew. The chicken slider wasn't spicy although it has a jalapeno slaw, and the breakfast slider had an egg and bacon. Both were really good. Unfortunatley we were too full to try the donuts but they looked great. Coffee was perfect, black and strong. Over all this place was good, but i'm not sure who it will withstand being so close to eggslut and Hattie B's. Both of those locations have similar menu's except for the donuts.

MY FAVORITE!!! We ate here 3-4 times. Even took a to go order to eat on our drive back to LA. My favorite is the mild hot chicken. My fiance prefers the chicken strips. Chicken strips or plates of chicken come with 2 sides and the sandwich only comes with one. The first day we had it the mac n' cheese was very watery and missing a lot of the flavor. It's a pimento mac n cheese. The following times the mac and cheese was very good. I would highly recommend it as a side. My chicken sandwich never failed me. It was perfect each and every time. I am not a huge fan of the super spicy so the hottest i got is mild/medium. It has the right amount of kick and the slaw helps cool you down. My fiance loves the spice and he gets the hot. I tried it and it was pretty spicy, i think if it was in a sandwich i would be fine to eat the entire thing like that. But not as chicken strips, it would be a little too much. The sandwich has the perfect combination of slaw, bread and chicken. The chicken is thick, juicy and crunchy. Just over all the perfect spicy chicken sandwich.

Looking back at all of the yummy food and it's making me want to go back!! I would highly recommend if you want to enjoy the up and coming foodie scene in Las Vegas to go during the week. A nice trip from Sunday to Tuesday or even through to Wednesday would be ideal. The rooms are cheaper and the lines are shorter! Stay on the strip to avoid Ubering around. I'll write a post on my top Vegas hotels soon :)
